Description | Rim-sherd with stump of handle from a large closed vessel. Fine, very pale brown (10YR 7/3-4) clay, with decoration in black paint, added red paint and added white paint. Wiped with water and burnished. Band inside mouth, continuing across top of rim to form rim band on exterior; frieze of dots on neck. Added red: row of dots on rim band. Added white: two thin bands above and two thin bands below red dots. For the band of dots compare to 633 [MS4637.64]. |
