Description | Body-sherd from a large closed vessel. Coarse, pink (7.5YR 7/4) clay with light and dark inclusions, with decoration in brown to black paint. Wiped with water and burnished. Handmade. Interior unpainted. Rosette with outlined petals and foliate band, above or below horizontal bands. Added red: lines inside rosette petals. Added white: dots and thin lines on dark bands. Burned. Rosettes are common in LM I, occurring most often either within spirals or as small filling ornaments in the field. They are discussed by Niemeier 1985: 84-91.
