Description | Body-sherd from the upper shoulder of a closed vessel; edge of horizontal handle. Fine, sandy, pink (7.5 YR 7/4) clay with a redder core, covered with dark brown to black paint, with decoration in added white paint. Dark painted on exterior. Added white: band at neck; frieze of running spirals with waves, between bands. Surface eroded. A common decoration. Compare MS4700.9. |
