Description

Two non-joining body-sherds from an "in-and-out bowl." Fine, reddish brown (2.5 YR 5/4) clay with a gray core and a paler surface, with decoration in dark brown to black paint. Wiped with water or slipped and burnished. Crocus sprays with buds and flowers or interior. Tortoise-shell ripple. For the "in-and-out bowl" see vol. I, no. 23. For Ripple Ware see vol. I, no. 24.
