Description

Body-sherd from the shoulder of a closed vessel. Interior unpainted. Two horizontal bands above frieze of "sacral ivy" (FM 12) with multiple-stemmed foliate bands as stems for the leaves; tufted flowers and filled circles are within the leaves, which have filled tips. Interstices are filled with circles and other filling ornaments, only partly preserved. Added red paint: center band of foliate bands: centers of circles within leaves; centers of some of the circular filling ornaments. See 60-19-37
