Description | A wooden model of five dog open sled; carved, pointed runners (2) curved up in front to support crossbar and bowed front; bed consists of two planks which are secured by vegetable fiber rope bindings to three horizontal supports which are pegged to three pairs of legs rising from runners; legs are lashed to runners with raw hide; bent twig arch spans sled above first pair of legs; sidebars and bowed back rest of bent twigs are hitched to holes in rim of sled with vegetable fiber twine. The harness for open five dog sled; each individual harness of split rawhide attached for forged iron swivel ring which is knotted to main rope steering control. |
