| Description | Bark cloth decorated with a reddish brown grid. Fringe felted to the ends. At felting point, there is a strip of striped bark cloth adjoining the pieces. On one corner, there is a long piece of fringe, and on another, there is a small portion (approximately 1") of striped fringe. According to tag, Society Islands, but likely New Hebrides. See P2678. Similar to CIVIC1995.X.16419. Exhibited at l'Exposition universelle de Paris 1900. |
