Description | Water dropper in the form of a piece of fruit, probably a peach. It has a cream, brown, and red glaze and a hole on the side to control the flow of water as it comes out of the spout. It has two labels on it related to the Imperial Commercial Museum in Tokyo, Japan. There is also a label from the Philadelphia Commercial Museum indicating it came to them in January of 1909. There is also a maker's mark on the bottom. This is likely takatori ware from Fukuoka prefecture based on the label from the Imperial Commercial Museum in Tokyo. |
