Description | Oval food dish; boat shaped; bottom flat; sides curved and flaring; ends slightly concave on side, slanting outward and rising to high curve at Three encircling grooves outside just below rim. Narrow parallel grooves run lengthwise down inside on both ends. At each end of bottom, a rectangular section of diagonal parallel grooves meets grooving of ends. Cross grooves decorate rims. 35 brass studs on rim. Small even chisel marks on outside. A letter "N" carved on one side. Defect in wood near rim. A bad lengthwise crack on otherside. |
