Description | Spear with a tanged blade that flares out toward the tang. The blade has a pronounced medial ridge with a longitudinal flute on either side and an scroll design at the base of each flute. The blade is secured to the wooden spear shaft with a wrapping of brown and blue cloth and a sewn leather sleeve over the cloth. The butt end of the shaft terminates in a long, metal ferrule secured near the top with three nails, one of which has a copper-colored, metal disc over top. The end of the ferrule flares outward into a flattened, fin-like shape with ridges. |
