Description | Spear with a blade that flares out toward the base. The blade has a wide, medial ridge with series of horizontal marks etched toward the lower end and two scrolls at the base. The wooden shaft is wrapped at the upper and lower ends with leather painted black. The center of the shaft is covered with a basketry sleeve of light and dark fibers. The butt end terminates in a short, metal ferrule with circumferal bands etched above a flared, flattened, fin-like end. |
