Description

桔梗. Bellwort. Root of the Platycodon grandiflorum. A tonic and stomachic; taken for syphilis. From Jiangsu povince. Value at Zhenjiang, $7.50 per picul. Long slices of tan and brown wood. One of a collection of samples of Chinese medicine, each in an individual glass jar sealed with cork top.
