Description

Glass beads, cloth, leather, basketry; cone shaped crown, patterned in four concentric circles of colored beads- lower mosat quadrant has 4 faces- which are seperated by beads in red and yellow braided design on brown beaded background. the face establishing front has blue and red checked (beaded) design on forhead/hat and one strand of red beads in the center face establishing nose. face on proper left has blue and yellow checked pattern on forehead/hat, red horizontal strand bridging nose, a fragment of what was a beaded veil is beneath this face- face on back has only about 25% of red and blue checked pattern remaining on forehead/ hat and no nose- proper right face (intact) yellow, red, turquiose blue, and black checked pattern on forehead /hat and three red strands that converge from upper face to center face. second concentric circle of beads is almost all red beads in five strand ribbons that are interwoven. third concentric circle of beads is made up of a braided ribbon of black beads on a yelllow beaded background . the top and fourth concentric circle has significant bead loss- the most prominaent remaining beads make up five horizontal strands of beads (3 mostly white strands and two red strands) the remaining beads in this quadrant are in a cheked pattern colored tan, green, blue and red.
