Description

Saddle flap, one of a pair. Slightly curved with gold floral motif on a red lacquer background. There is a man in a hat on horseback in center. There are six holes with a rope strung in upper backside. These would have been used as an extension of a saddle that hung down on either side of the horse's flank. The use marks show it was heavily used, having been scuffed by the legs of the rider repeatedly.
