Description

Thick cloth, three panels. One half a blue-gray color with bands of five black lines. Other half decorated with a broad red band. Man’s loincloth (malo). Acquired by the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) by Titian R. Peale. “’Marro’ (breech cloth or man’s waist belt) of ‘tapa.’” on Peale list. Ka Hana Kapa #383.
