Description | "Pottery spindle whorl, brown, Class IIb stemmed." as per register. Design is four bands, of two different interior patterns; two are cross-hatched, two are horizontal herringbone patterns. 3 rows of small circles in two of the spaces between bands. Two encircling lines around the edge. Stem is angled, not vertical, and decorated with four concentric lines and a row of small circles or dots. Dots all around the interior hole. Flat bottom has four circles, two of which have dots inside them. |
