Description | "Pottery spindle whorl, hard-baked brown ware, Class IIb stemmed." as per register. Design is an intricately incised pattern of bands and hatchmarks. Hatched bands around the outside edge and the edge of the stem. Stem is angled, not vertical. with four ladder-pattern bands extending from the band at the bottom to the top hole. Flat bottom has a pattern of dots - two T shapes with lines extending from the interior hole to halfway through the surface; two T shapes on exterior edges. |
