Description | String bag with shoulder strap, colored. Medium sized string bag, with bands of yellow, blue, terra cotta (and natural). Material is called at muut kat (not identified but differnt from Gnetum). Blue/black color is from a cultivated plant with a berry (menkom). Terra cotta is from redy clay. Yellow is from a tuber for coloring wood penis sheaths--see 89-17-58. Made by women and carried by both men and women at ceremonial occasions and pig feasts. Made by Bumok Damarop, Ninggimdem clan, Dome village. Purchased from her 1/11/89. |
