Description

Molded glass candy dish of amber tint with scalloped edges and a geometric pattern on the exterior of the mouth and the interior of the base. It has a plain, slightly fluted stem with circular decorations near the top. This dish was made in Russia and represents imports from the Socialist era into Mongolia. Dishes like these were used in the city and in soum (village) centers as well as in gers. It held hard candies wrapped individually in silver foil, and would have been for serving guests in a ger or apartment.
