Description | Fiber hood and mask. Woven vegetable fiber mask. Mostly dark red, with beard undyed and tassels at bottom light red, green, purple, and undyed. Made of small braids sewn together. Pronounced nose. Unbraided beardl Eyeholes. Low crest shaped top. Cup=-shaped ears attached. Two diagnol strips of braiding cross under ear. Below chin mask divides into narrow strips, each about 5 braids wide, which end in long unbraided section. Long thick back braid from end of crest, knotted at intervals from about half-way down, and with 2 large tassels attached below first knot. Used by young men in circumcision dances. |
