Description | Two vertical loop handles with face on neck, small Long necked vase with an ovate body, hyperboloid neck, missing rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. There is a modeled/molded face on the neckwith ears, eyes, nose, mouth, and chin. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. There are large inclusions that could include grog and shell. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom/base. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink. Black ink on the interior of handle reads: "2841." |
