Description | Shoulder fragment of a straight-sided pithos. Interior unglazed. Surface of exterior reserved, with decoration in light brown glaze. On shoulder, top to bottom: inverted point of a triangle with central dot; 4 wheel painted lines; a glazed band. On wall, top to bottom: 4 wheel painted lines; part of a maeander (?) or key pattern consisting of 2 bordering lines with 2 lines of dots between. Hard, medium brown clay. Identification by Nicolas Coldstream on visit 8 Apr 82. |
