Description | Fragment of lip and upper wall of large skyphos. Interior probably once glazed, now fugitive. Low lip, canted slightly outward. Convex wall. On exterior lip is fully glazed. At top of wall a wheel glazed narrow band. On wall, dependent from a second glazed band is a horizntal row of hatched diamonds. Brown glaze. Medium brown clay. Identification by Nicolas Coldstream on visit 8 Apr 82. |
