Description | Miniature bowl. Flat bottom, convex body; outward thickened rim, slightly overhanging. Shape somewhat oblong, not perfectly round. A thick layer of black paint has been applied over a light terracotta fabric in order to give it the appearance of bucchero. The fabric is exposed where the paint has chipped off. The shape and coarseness of the piece suggests that it may have been made from a mould of a genuine example. Faint traces of wheel-marks are visible on the interior. |
