Description | Narrow-necked jar/bottle (aríbalo, aryballos) with an ovate body, hyperboloid neck, missing rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a conical (aribaloid) base. The vessel has a protrusion on the shoulder and is painted white on the shoulder and neck. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is buff in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2267." |
