Description | Stringed instrument: rendo (Baduy) or rebab (elsewhere in Indonesia). Wooden box with bowed belly, two metal strings, star-shaped sound hole. Long neck with two tuning pegs. Thin flat metal strips nailed at top and bottom. Usually played in the evening after working in the rice field, in the small field hut, often with the flute (suling) (see 87-1-5 A-B). |
