Description

Broad flat bottom beveled, body contracting to short neck with neck; two vertical loop handles on lower body, knobs on side. Incasic pot; red clay. somewhat small. Polychrome painted with triangles in typical aryballos design to which the vessel approaches but for the flat bottom.

Wide mouthed vessel with an ovate body, hyperboloid collar, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. The vessel has a protrusion on the shoulder and is painted on one side of the body with a geometric design in white and black. There is a zigzag design around the shoulder painted in black and the neck is painted white with red around the rim. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3241."
