Description

Worn at festivals. Wool. Woven in two rectangular panels and sewn together at shoulders with slit for head. Seam border is embroidered with triangles of green, pink, red, yellow, and white. Poncho is decorated with horizontal bands (average width - 1cm) of black, red, maroon, yellow, green, purple, and white. All bands on each side. Edging (and fringe) around border of poncho is woven separately. Fringe (warp of edging) has same colors as poncho. Weft is yellow, maroon, red, and green with checkerboard design.
