Description | Round, lid fits down over sides, Made of sweet grass and splints. Sweet grass is braided into cords which are plaited with the splints. Bottom and lid are started with splints radiating from center. Side has a broad splint below rim which is finished with hoops. Lid has closely woven strands of grass from center out to about two-thirds where braids start. Small flat braided strap as handle over part of top of lid. Splints are green. Lid partly broken. Looks Europeanized. |
