Description | Food pounder made from metal. Cylindrical, flaring widely to the pounding end and more narrowly to the flat top, which is crossed by two raised strips. According to the collector, someone manufactured these, hoping to sell them to the islanders, but they were declared to be less effective than the traditional coral pounders and the metal model never caught on. |
