Description | Funerary urn. Red ware; black and red on cream paint. Concave base (bottom missing), sides expanding for about one-third the body height, then slightly rounded and merging into a high, very wide neck with straight sides outturned at rim (most of rim missing) 2 horizontal strap handles (one broken) very low on body. Decoration: on exterior: overall pattern of squared meanders, dotted straight and angled bands; and on upper part-stylized serpents, birds, bird elements. On rim interior, angular meander. |
