Description

India Ink drawing. Original by Jesse Cornplanter. Signed: "J.J. Cornplanter 1908". On back "No 3 Seneca Squaw pounding maize" in India Ink and "#12" in pencil. Drawing of a woman in garb of 1800's using double headed Iroquois pestle in mortar. In back of her is ground meal in wooden tray on a table. Beyond that a bark house with shade over door. Lone pine tree on hill beyond.
