| Description | Bulbous conical bowl. Coiled construction, carved. Designs are dark terracotta, outlined in burnished black. Inside burnished black, with a 3cm. X 4cm. flake missing from surface. An eating bowl, for individual portions of sago pudding. Supported by a woven fiber ring when in use. Pattern consists of two large nests of concentric diamonds, with pairs of large spirals below them, near the rim. Between the pairs of spirals are burnished black negative spaces, free of carving, reminiscent in shape of the borid-like figures on 2013-20-13. The lines of the nested diamonds and spirals are decorated with small punctate dots. Large (7cm. X 2 cm.) chip on one side, painted over. |
