Description | Large conical bowl. Coiled construction, carved and painted. Almost all color worn off: some red pigment present. Inside burnished black. An eating bowl, for individual portions of sago pudding. Supported by a woven fiber ring when in use. Four-lobed design with nested squares and a pointed ellipse in the center. Between the lobes, reaching to rim, large nested pointed ellipses. Below the lobes, along the rim, small ellipses surrounded by concentric crescents. Outlines of lobes and large ellipses textured with punctate impressions. Design very similar to that of 2013-20-22. |
