| Description | Conical bowl. Coiled construction, carved and painted. Patterns are red, buff, and white, outlined in burnished black. Inside is terracotta with smudged areas from firing and smudges of black paint. "708" in light crayon.. An eating bowl, for individual portions of sago pudding. Supported by a woven fiber ring when in use. Two large heart-shaped "faces" with small spirals surrounding eye-like circles at the top, alternating with two similar but smaller "faces," oriented the opposite way. Near the rim, the spaces flanking the smaller faces are filled with spirals. Punctate triangles frame the two larger faces and form a border around the rim. Outlines and crescent areas of the large faces are textures with punctate dots. |
