Description | Short round pot with wide mouth and flaring rim. Terracotta with smudged areas from firing. Eagle face molded in relief on one side of the neck: round eyes, downturned beak. Small hole through corner of top edge of beak. Below, a bib or necklace with five raised loops; similar sets of four raised loops at the sides. Face, beak, and loop areas painted with delicate white designs. Beak has been broken, reconstructed and repainted. A horizontal crack runs into the bib in front. Used to store smoked sago. |
