Description

Large. Complete, some green patina. Bow semicircular, round in section; large central reel at top, smaller reel flanked by raised rings to each side, above plain cylindrical stilts at ends of bow. Catch (at left) separately made: flat rectangular piece of bronze, not spined, turned up along lower edge, no spurs. Lower end of leg notched to receive catch, a tenon in its upper end held in place by a large round dowel, smoothed and polished on both faces of leg. Spring and pin in one; spring 2 1/4(?) loops, flat bronze strip; pin hammered to round in sec. and tapered. Spliced to leg of bow above spring and held by a round headed pin; a repair?
