Description | Signed "Maria". Large huipil made of three panels of white cotton groundcloth with narrow veritcal stripes in blue, red, green. Center front, and shoulders, and back, decorated with fine multicolored supplementary weft, predominantly red. 7 cm wide band of embroidery around the neck in purple, gold, and green. Seams where panels come together and side seams are elaborately embroidered. Side seams are stitched closed. |
