Description | Wavy blade (9 curves) with very indistinct watery markings (pamor). Stemmed cup with scalloped edges, like the petals of a flower. Slightly bent, faceted wood handle (“young shoot in tree trunk”) with two carvings on the inner side, possibly the stylized representations of masks or monster (kala) faces. Painted light green with gold net pattern on sides and back, curved yellow lines on chest. Metal cup painted yellow (mostly worn off). Broad, squat shape of hilt figure somewhat resembles figure in Frey captioned "Surakarta eastern." |
