Description

Cotton cloth, homespun, dyed black. Sewn into tube, with fringe along lower half of one side seam. Decorated with shell beads: two male figures on either side of a skull tree, a pair of animals below and a pair of small birds above. The top is undecorated (to be folded over). Such skirts are worn ceremonially and also used as valuables, typically as a gift to the bride as part of the wedding ceremony.
