Description | Fine old trunk-shaped box. Bottom and 4 sides of base, and 4 sides of cover of thin wood. All covered with birch-bark; cover, convex in one plane like old trunk, of bark only. Cover attached by hinges. Completely covered with geometric and mainly rectilinear designs in dyed porcupine quill. Many colors, very much faded. Many quills missing and box broken. |
