Description | Sandstone Gateway from the North Temple at Buhen. This doorway was set up by Thury (Twrj), a viceroy of Buhen. The decoration is crude. This fragment is the upper left jamb. On its face is a torus molding, and the beginning of an inscription naming Ahmose I. On the thickness of the jamb is a crudely carved depiction of Thury, holding a branch, standing before a woman. Below this is five lines of text, recording a Htp-dj-nsw formula dedicated by Horus, lord of Buhen, to the Commander of Buhen, Thury. |
