Description | Man's cloth (selimut). Three loom widths. Uncut warps. Side panels bright red, with narrow stripes of alternating float patterns of hooked diamonds in red-brown and dark blue. Central panel white, with red, yellow and dark blue hooked diamond designs in discontinuous supplementary weft. At ends of central panel design bright blocks of hooked diamond designs in tapestry weave. Similar in color and patterning to the selimut pictured in Splendid Symbols Fig 136, which Gittinger identifies as an elaborate textile such as "were used by men of noble rank," from the Miomafo area.
