Description | Textile (ceremonial hanging?). Homespun cotton, one loom width. Narrow bright red and yellow stripes mark off longitudinal bands of supplementary warp decoration, including a broad central band with alternating human and animal figures. White supplemenary wefts painted light brown in legs of animals, branching motifs above human figures, and alternating motifs in side bands. Weft twined end panels. White, red, yellow, black fringes, up to 9 cm. long. |
