Description | Nearly complete fragments of a painted plate; similar to 26851 Bowl with a flaring body, no neck/collar, rounded rim, no handles, and a ring base/foot base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted with a geometric design around the interior in orange, white, and black. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange and gray in color. The orange and white paint is powdery and comes off to the touch. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1161k." |
