Description

Round wooden kava bowl with four legs. Underside of lip has toothed edge. Inside of bowl has patina (yellow stain or coating of kava). Triangular lug with slight midrib. Cord attached to eyelet on underside. Label on inner surface: "Native Kava Bowl Brought By Lieut. H.C. Cochrane, U.S.M.C., from Fiji Islands, Nov., 1870." Attached tag: "Bau 10/25/[18]69."
