Description | Body sherd from a pithos; short neck with rounded, thickened rim, slightly everted; molding at top of shoulder; molding at base; four vertical handles on upper shoulder. Coarse, red (2.5 YR 4-5/6) clay with light and dark inclusions. Wiped with water. Handmade. Trickle ornament. Comments: MM IB-III. Compare Hawes et al. 1908: pl.1, no. 29 (Gournia). |
