| Description | Part of a board for Chap Jiki (Chap Ji Kee) Lottery. Painted white with red border and 12-square grid (3 down, 4 across). In the squares formed by the grid, Chinese characters: vertical columns alternating red and black. Made in three interlocking pieces, of which this is the second. Includes second column and most of third. Good condition. Characters in 16448A-C (Board 1) are mirror image of those in 16448D-F (Board 2). Gambling game said to have been invented in Johore in the 1890s. |
