Sommerville: Antique paste cameo, color sard. A Mask. Spots of violet iridescence. Antique Pastes, Case WWW.

Vermeule: Glass paste imitating pale yellow Sard. (Unmounted) Broken on all sides. Gorgon mask facing. It is the flat archaistic type found in many decorative media and especially as the upper ornament of several classes of Roman Imperial enriched cuirasses. Graeco-Roman.
