Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, bulging neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. The vessel has a modeled face on the neck with eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. There is a geometric design on the neck in incised lines and punctate dots. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. One part of the pot is gray and porous, as if it was overfired. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom/base. The catalogue number is written on the interior of neck. Black ink on the interior of neck reads: "1887."
